OK, so you've read the Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters (often pronounced as Zoo Zoo Pets hamsters and Zu Zu Pets hamsters) toys hype, watched the constant TV commercials and now your kids are putting them on their Christmas list. At the end of the day, although the retail price on them is comparatively low, are they actually worth buying, or would you be better of spending the money on one of the other toys or your child's Santa list?
The hype. These hamster toys have already entered into the phase of toy craze and with the addition of them on the Toys r Us Christmas top ten toy list, that craze is just going to get worse. Now, don't get me wrong, generally I don't just follow the herd, but at $7, is it worth your kid being the only one around without a Zhu Zhu hamster toy this Christmas? Try and explain that when the novelty of the other toys have worn off and her best friend pops around with her Mr Squiggles and Num Nums to rub it in.
The fun. Without a doubt, kids of all ages love these little furry hamsters. Parents find them pretty cool too (well I do anyway!). The great thing about them, besides the four different hamster choices each having different personalities and acting differently, different aspects of these interactive toy pets appeals differently to each child. Girls love the affectionate mode and pampering and taking care of it, almost in a real hamster pet fashion. Boys on the other hand love to see them go fast and do all the cool tricks and moves that they do in explore mode. So whether you're buying a hamster toy this Christmas for a girl or boy, they will equally be thoroughly entertained and have literally hour after hour of fun...and that's from personal experience! Ah, a sudden surge of relaxation time for mom!
The great and varied range of Accessories that you can buy for your kid's hamster means that you don't need to shortly search for another whole new toy, but can extend the interest, fun and interactive nature of these hamsters by simply buying an add-on for it, whether that be a hamster house or surf board or even their very own hamster mobile.
If you are one of the thousands of parents out there whose child has been pestering you for a real hamster, but you have simply put it off for all of the normal reasons, such as taking care of it in the long term, feeding it, cleaning it out, then you will be happy to find that other sneaky parents have substituted the real thing for a hamster toy and saved themselves the headaches of the care and feeding requirements and their children are more than happy and no longer go on about getting a real hamster.
If you are anything like me, I try as hard as I can to keep my daughters away from continual idle entertainment such as video Games and marathon TV sessions. I love toys that make them be creative, think and if they get some exercise at the same time, all the better. These Zhu Zhu hamster toys took me completely by surprise. It's amazing the different things that they think of getting the hamster to do around the house and with all of the various Accessories that I have ended up buying and as for exercise, well my little one gets plenty chasing Mr Squiggles from room to room when he goes into explore mode.
